Abstract

This study examines the relationship between sustainable procurement practices and organizational performance, focusing on a quantitative case study of Dangote Group in Nigeria. Sustainable procurement, which integrates environmental, social, and economic considerations into purchasing decisions, has become increasingly crucial for firms seeking long-term competitiveness and compliance with global sustainability standards. Using a structured questionnaire distributed to procurement officers, managers, and sustainability personnel within Dangote Group, the study collected primary data to assess the extent and effects of sustainable procurement practices. Statistical techniques, including correlation and multiple regression analysis, were employed to determine the strength and significance of the relationship between sustainable procurement initiatives and key organizational performance metrics such as financial performance, operational efficiency, corporate reputation, and stakeholder engagement. The findings reveal that sustainable procurement practices positively and significantly influence organizational performance, suggesting that integrating sustainability into procurement strategies can drive business success. The study contributes to the growing body of literature on sustainable supply chain management in emerging economies and offers practical insights for firms aiming to enhance performance through responsible procurement. Recommendations are provided to support policy development and strategic planning for organizations pursuing sustainability-driven growth.
