About the Journal

The Journal of Public Administration Kaduna State University (JOPAKASU) is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal published twice a year, in June and December, by the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Management Sciences, Kaduna State University.

Our purpose

JOPAKASU exists as an avenue for the cross-fertilisation of ideas — to add to knowledge and to generate solutions to the many challenges facing Nigeria's, and Africa's, quest for development. Its objective is to provide an open platform for the dissemination of research output, and articles are welcomed from academics, professionals and practitioners in public administration and in neighbouring fields.

What the journal prints reflects that: the administration of local government, public financial management and tax reform, the delivery of health, water and education services, the effects of insecurity and displacement on rural communities, and the leadership and human resource questions that run through all of them.

Open access

Everything JOPAKASU publishes is free to read, download and share from the day it appears. There is no subscription, no paywall and no embargo period. Publication is funded by author charges, set out in full under Fees and Charges in the Author Guidelines.

Submissions

The subject areas we cover, and the manuscripts that fall outside our remit, are on the Aims & Scope page. Submissions are made through this website; the Author Guidelines carry manuscript preparation, how review works, fees, ethics and copyright. Published work is in the Archives.

The views expressed in published articles are those of their authors. Authors are individually responsible for the content of their articles.
